The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) provides the people, processes and coordination mechanisms required to support CERN’s digital strategy and the mandate of the Chief Information Officer. The Office focuses on aligning and coordinating transversal computing-related initiatives across the Laboratory, while operational responsibility for ICT service delivery remains with the departments and experiments.
The OCIO operates through a matrix structure that builds on the expertise distributed across CERN. Staff embedded within different departments contribute part of their time to advancing the CIO’s mandate, helping to strengthen coordination, share knowledge and facilitate collaboration across the Organisation.
